14 Feb If your donor lives in another city, you can have fresh semen samples fresh donor sperm, your physiological risk is no different than sharing.
Description:Many health advocates, as well as advocates for the rights of those who form families outside of heterosexual partnerships, recognize that such a rule carries an inherent bias towards heterosexual couples. The physiological risks are the same, and just as an individual has the right to choose to undertake the risks of disease transmission with a sexual partner, an individual also has the right to assume those risks when choosing to conceive with a known sperm donor. In addition to establishing a trusting relationship with your donor that is based on full disclosure and open communication, you may choose to have your donor tested for the communicable diseases listed above. However, you may still be exposed to any of those diseases if your donor contracted the disease too recently for them to show up on a blood test, or if your donor contracts a disease after the test and then continues to donate sperm to you. There is an additional risk to those who are inseminating with shipped sperm as well as most frozen or washed sperm preparations. The buffer solution used to ship semen samples is called TEST-yolk.
